Ashleigh Takes On XFC 2016

This weekend marks a very special weekend for Jeti USA team pilot Ashleigh Heath. The excitement was obvious as she headed to Champaign, Illinois for The Original XFC Extreme Flight Championship. Not only is this her first XFC competition, she is the first female to ever compete here. We are absolutely amazed at her level of skill, and we are very proud to call her a Jeti Team Member. Ashleigh we want to wish you the best of luck during your flight. GO ROCK IT GIRL! If any of you get a chance, go out and show her your support.

Behind The Flight Line

All of us that fly RC know that it takes skills both on the flight line and off to complete a successful flight. On our first demo flight we had an unfortunate series of events during landing, resulting in a damaged wing (as any RC pilot can relate 🙂 ). We are very thankful to have had someone who possesses such skill with us at Joe Nall 2016. This damaged wing could have grounded us for our Friday noon demo flight. However, all thanks to Laura Melnik,  it didn’t. Laura is very talented in many ways, and one of her specialties just happens to be fabrication. She was able to rebuild a wing using only a few scraps of balsa, CA glue, and an aluminum can. This amazing patch job allowed us to continue flying Friday. She even added a little pizzazz with her handmade rivets! We want to extend a very sincere thank you to Laura for all her fast thinking and hard work.

Without her, The Jeti USA Girl Flight Team may not have made history.

Thank you Laura.

We made History! Jeti USA Made History!

In today’s 21st century society, there isn’t much Women can’t do, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t still Male dominated industries. The RC world is one of those, but that is rapidly changing. As time passes, we see more women out at the fields; more women on the flight line; more women with transmitters in their hands.  This year, Joe Nall was something special. Jeti USA made history by being the first ever, all Women Flight Team to perform at the noontime demos. Just to put that into perspective – The First in thirty three years of this event! For us, this was not meant to be monumental.  We had a bunch of girls – that wanted to fly, so we created the Jeti USA Girl Flight Team. What it turned out to be was much more than we had anticipated, and we are proud to have been a part of it.

Our pilots, Ashleigh Heath and Aneta Bouskova, are both amazing in many ways, especially at what they do. Ashleigh has been flying for over five years, and she focuses mainly on 3D Flight. During an interview with her, when asked why she chose to pick up the sticks her answer was simple. “Because it’s fun.”  Aneta learned to fly over ten years ago with her brother and her father. For her, it was a great way to spend time with her family. Now, she can’t put down the sticks.

We are proud to be involved in the Hobby, and we look forward to growing both of our teams. In the end, we want to let everyone know, that GIRLS FLY TOO!

Thank you for all your support!
